Two More Democrats Have Been Accused Of Ethics Violations…Here’s Who
(Liberty Bell) – Earlier this month, one-time Democrat darling Rep. Katie Hill resigned in disgrace after being outed for sleeping with not one, but two of her staffers.
That wasn’t all. During her first affair with a staffer, which is illegal for members of Congress, but she had the poor girl engaged in a so-called “throuple” with her now-estranged husband.
She is estranged from her husband now, you see, because she broke up with her young female staffer and husband, but not after beginning an affair with one of her male staffers.
Now, two more members of the caucus have found themselves under review by the House Ethics Committee.
According to Fox News, the panel is extending its review of the handling of campaign finances by Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), another darling of the party and member of the radical, naval-gazing “the Squad.”
And yet another Democrat, Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) is also being reviewed by the panel after concerns about a “relationship with a staffer” raised questions about whether he “has received any improper gifts, including any forbearance, from that employee.”
The Rashida Tlaib for Congress campaign committee allegedly “reported campaign disbursements that may not be legitimate and verifiable campaign expenditures attributable to bona fide campaign or political purposes,” according to a release from the Office of Congressional Ethics, Fox News reported.
The ethics committee says that if Tlaib did indeed use funds from her own campaign for personal use, or of the campaign committee spent money for purposes other than the campaign, she could be found in violation of House rules, standards of conduct, and federal campaign finance laws.
The committee found “substantial reason to believe that Rep. Tlaib converted campaign funds from Rashida Tlaib for Congress to personal use or Rep. Tlaib’s campaign committee expended funds that were not attributable to bona fide campaign or political purposes.”
In April of 2018, Tlaib emailed a staffer saying that she was “sinking” financially and asked if the “campaign could loan me money.”
She helpfully suggested a payment of $5,000 as a “stipend” so that she could get out of debt.
On top of all the reasons this woman shouldn’t be a congresswoman, we can add her being so financially incompetent that she tried to borrow money from her own campaign to the list.
If this was a Republican, the mainstream media would be melting down.
But no, she’s a sainted member of the radical left and so she can do no wrong.
If the Democrats didn’t have double standards, they’d have no standards at all. SMH!!
Giuliani Under Investigation for Failing to Register as Foreign Agent and Campaign Finance Violations
President Trump's attorney, Rudy Guiliani, who is at the center of the Ukraine scandal is under investigation for failing to register as a foreign agent and campaign finance violations.
According to The Daily Caller:
Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, is reportedly being investigated for campaign finance violations and failing to register as a foreign agent.
Three anonymous officials told Bloomberg that the former New York City mayor’s facilitation of communications between the Trump administration and Ukraine forced the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office to open the probe.
“I would not be surprised if he gets indicted,” former federal prosecutor Mimi Rocah told Bloomberg. “It’s clear Giuliani is up to his ears in shady stuff and there’s tons of smoke.”
The same attorney’s office brought campaign finance charges against Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, two of Giuliani’s foreign-born associates, for conspiring “to circumvent the federal laws against foreign influence by engaging in a scheme to funnel foreign money to candidates for federal and State office so that the defendants could buy potential influence with candidates, campaigns, and the candidates’ government.”
As the Bloomberg report noted the Giuliani situation could present the biggest issues yet for President Trump with Giuliani being both his lawyer and operative.
Radio host and Convention of States endorser Ben Shapiro took to the airwaves on his show this week to explain how a Convention of States can fix massive misinterpretations by the Supreme Court:
"The Supreme Court has run roughshod over various areas of the Constitution, particularly when it comes to state power and the ability of the government to regulate your life," he said.
Shapiro noted one case in particular that expanded the federal government's power to encompass virtually every economic transaction.
"The only way to overrule the Supreme Court is with a constitutional amendment, so I'm very much in favor of looking again at [those constitutional interpretations]," he concluded.
Ben Shapiro: Convention of States is needed to reestablish our guiding principles
